From the beginning of my journey preparing for the CIPLE exam, I felt supported by the Discovery Language Academy staff, especially by my teacher, Elisabete Tavares. Preparing for an exam and learning a new language in your early sixties is never easy, but Elisabete’s passion for Portuguese and teaching, patience, and well-thought-out study approach gave me the confidence to pass the exam! Plus, I was able to prepare fo the exam online during the pandemic—very flexible!

Discovery Language Academy’s Conversational Portuguese for Beginners was a great introduction for me to the Portuguese language. As a remote Student, Professora Silvia made each class engaging, informative, and interactive. Her ability to integrate the learning process with remote and classroom students truly allowed me to have an enriched learning environment. Also her ability to bring her life experiences into the class provided unique and wonderful insight about Portuguese customs, holidays, landscape, and history. – not to mention a wealth of online resources for our continued independent learning.
As a student preparing to take the CIPLE A2 Exam, I found the Discovery Language Academy’s tutoring model extremely focused on the elements of the Exam. My Tutor, Professora Maria Dos Santos, was exceptional in her command of all aspects of the language and her knowledge of the exam. In a remote environment, her structuring of our classwork around the exam elements provided a cohesive succinct learning experience.
