Mr. Mike Fernandes holds a BSME from Northeastern University and a Certificate in Management Essentials from Wharton Business School. Mr. Fernandes spent his career in leadership roles at various companies designing and manufacturing elastomeric seals for various markets. He spent 11 years at Acushnet Rubber Company (now known as Precix Inc.) and became the company’s youngest Director of Engineering while leading over 400 employees in both engineering and manufacturing. In 2001, he co-founded Polyneer Inc., a designer and manufacturer of elastomeric seals, and grew sales through the development of products/processes, development of IP, building a sales network, development of a state of the art manufacturing facility, and through the acquisition of 2 smaller competitors. In 2015, he sold the company to Ar-Tex International.

Mr. Fernandes’ technical, business and entrepreneurial skills are now being utilized by Remote Sensing Solutions Inc, a company located in Barnstable MA that is focused on software defined radar and sonar, to help it develop and commercialize products and services the company has spent years in research and development. After 2 years the company has generated revenue in commercialized product in excess of $1mm and is well positioned to grow at +30% annually.

Mr. Fernandes also owns a family business called Cogitur Inc. that is commercializing a patented photo voltaic integrated roofing material.

Mr. Fernandes resides in Dartmouth MA with his wife of 27 years who also graduated from NU with a BSME degree. They have three children: a daughter working as a Registered Nurse, and two sons studying Mechanical Engineering at NU.
