Dr. Leslie Vicente is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where she completed her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Public Policy in May 2019.

Her professional goals are to maximize partnerships to build local and regional partnerships, advance existing non-profit organization, government, and business relationships that improve educational outcomes for students in New Bedford, and to create new programming for educational access that builds on existing programs.

She loves to travel, mostly to Graciosa, a remote island in the archipelago of the Azores. Although she was born In California, she has lived in the Azores and that is her second home. She is a mother of four adult kids who she considers her biggest achievement.

She has been at DLA since 2016.
