We are excited to pilot two innovative classes designed to help individuals achieve their goals: the American Citizenship Readiness Class and the Portuguese Citizenship Readiness Class.

 

1. American Citizenship Readiness Class

Prepare for Your Citizenship Interview with Confidence

This free class equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in the U.S. citizenship process. Participants will gain practical experience answering oral questions from the N-400 application and develop confidence for their naturalization interviews.

 

What You’ll Learn:

  • Master the 100 U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services civics questions through engaging lessons.
  • Explore essential topics like U.S. history, geography, civics, and government.
  • Enhance your pronunciation, reading, writing, and dictation skills with hands-on practice.
  • Build confidence through interactive activities, including games and traditional study methods.

Class Highlights:

  • Free Textbook: Provided to all students.
  • Community Support: Guidance on accessing local resources for individual application assistance.

Schedule:

  • When: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 – 7:00 PM

2. Portuguese Citizenship Readiness Class

Achieve Your Goal of Portuguese Citizenship

This comprehensive course is designed to prepare students for the CIPLE A2 Proficiency Exam—a requirement for Portuguese citizenship. With a 95% student passing rate, DLA is proud to support learners on their journey to becoming Portuguese nationals.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Develop essential listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Portuguese.
  • Gain insight into the structure and requirements of the CIPLE A2 test.
  • Practice with expert instructors and access resources tailored to your needs.

 

CIPLE A2 Exam Overview

Test Sections and Weighting:

  • Reading and Writing: 1 hour 15 minutes (45%)
  • Listening: 30 minutes (30%)
  • Oral Interaction: 15 minutes (25%)
  • Passing Threshold: A minimum score of 55%.
  • Registration: Available online for exams administered in May and November in the USA.

  • Learn from experienced instructors who specialize in Portuguese language education.
  • Build the confidence and skills to succeed in the exam.
